Horn Climate Resilience (HCR) has multi-sectorial experience based on its almost 6 years (2018 to present) of practical experience in diverse emergency humanitarian responses and interventions, empowerment including training in program and human resource training, Programmes Monitoring and Evaluation in diverse sectors, undertaking and supporting development responses oriented towards various sectors e.g. WASH, Protection, FSL, CCCM, Peacebuilding & enhancement of governance including conflict resolutions.
HCR operates in Bay, Bakool, Lower Shabelle, and Hirshabelle regions, with its head office in Baidoa and field offices in Berdale, Wajid, Qansaxdhere, & Burhakaba. In all the programs mentioned above, the implementing staff are locals, thus, we are proud of being well-versed with local customs and having a well-established relationship with local leaders. These strong links have enabled HCR, as well as funding agencies, to gain people’s trust and successfully implement projects quickly.
The organization has core professional staff with diverse experience in humanitarian programming, particularly in the pastoralism-based economy, protection, humanitarian interventions, and livelihood support. The core programming staff members are versatile and deeply committed to continuously analyzing the priority needs of pastoralist and farmers’ populations, addressing current challenges associated with climate change, and applying their analytical knowledge on tools and approaches to working out appropriate and relevant solutions with the participation of host and IDP populations.
